  3. Participant characteristics and outcomes of the cohort, including acute brain dysfunction, cognitive impairment, disability, and mortality, are displayed. Cognitive impairment was assessed with the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status [29] and Trail Making Test Part B [30] or with the Telephone Interview for Cognitive Status [31] and a validated telephone cognitive battery [32]. Disability was assessed with the Katz ADL [7] and the Functional Activities Questionnaire [8]
