  1. Bold numbers mean: p value of 0.05 or less
  2. Sum scores of Major Depression Inventory (MDI), for depression, Graded Chronic Pain Scale (GCPS), for pain intensity and resulting disability, and Posttraumatic Stress Scale (PTSS-10), for symptoms of PTSD. High scores indicate high impairment. Range of possible sum scores: MDI: 0–50, GCPS intensity/disability: 0–100, PTSS-10: 10–70. PTSS-10 scores over 34 are considered to confirm the diagnosis of PTSD
  3. Trajectory classes: mr, mild recovered trajectory; sp, severe persistent trajectory; sr, severe recovered trajectory
  4. MDI, major depression inventory; GCPS, Graded Chronic Pain Scale; PTSS-10, Posttraumatic Stress Scale; ICU, intensive care unit; IQR, interquartile range
  5. aKruskal–Wallis test
  6. bMann–Whitney test
  7. cChi-square test
