Organ dysfunctions in patients with pneumonia-related septic shock. The occurrence of organ dysfunction at the onset of septic shock was compared based on plasma (a) soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (sVEGFR1) levels and (b) urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) activities above the optimal cutoff points (solid bars) and below the optimal cutoff points (shaded bars).
