Arterial blood gases. Arterial hypoxemia was less in mice treated with activated protein C (APC) compared with mice receiving saline (NS). There were also non-significant trends towards acidosis and hypercarbia in the HVt- NS group (data expressed as mean ± standard deviation; * denotes P < 0.05 for comparison with LVt-30 min; One-way analysis of variance with post-hoc analysis by Dunnett's test).
