Plasma Hormone concentrations. There was no increase in total postprandial insulin secretion (a), however the plasma insulin/blood glucose ratio was increased at t = 270 minutes (b). Exogenous glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) infusion increased plasma GLP-1 concentrations (c) and caused a transient, but non-sustained, suppression of glucagon (d).
