Model A included the general health item of the 36-item Short-form (SF-36), age and sex. Model B included the physical component score (PCS), mental component score (MCS), age and sex. Model C included the Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) II score, age and sex. Model D included the general health item of the SF-36, APACHE II score, age and sex.
