  1. Baseline refers to the date of ICU admission. Body mass index was body weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. Mean arterial pressure is diastolic pressure plus one third of the difference between systolic and diastolic pressure. Diabetes mellitus was a fasting/random glucose ≥ 7.0/11.1 mmol/L, use of anti-diabetic agents or a diagnosis in medical records. P denotes the significance of the difference between survivors and nonsurvivors
