Colder (darker blue) colors represent lung areas that participate early in the ventilation, warmer (lighter blue) colors are areas with a delay in inspiration starting time. A larger fraction of lung area participates earlier in ventilation when using FLEX ventilation. This effect is nearly mitigated after switching off FLEX ventilation
