Ninety-day mortality in the low and high visceral adipose tissue/subcutaneous adipose tissue (VAT/SAT) groups. Patients with a VAT/SAT ratio lower than the median value (n = 36) had longer survival compared to patients with a VAT/SAT ratio higher than the median value (n = 37) (p = 0.039). This observation is consistent with a previous report in patients with septic shock [4]
