The regression coefficient plot for the orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis model differentiating pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) sepsis from emergency department (ED) sepsis cohorts in children ages 2–17 years (Fig. 3c). Positive values of the coefficients indicate increased concentrations in the PICU sepsis cohort samples, and negative values indicate a decrease in concentration in the PICU sepsis cohort samples, compared with the ED sepsis cohort samples.
