Pressure differences between brain sites (tissue minus ventricle) for 17 patients. For the majority of measurements (93.5 %), the difference in pressure (within 2SD of the mean) varied in either direction by close to 10 mmHg. For three patients (Patients 11, 2 and 16; GOS 1, 4 and 1 respectively) tissue pressure was frequently between 10 and 30 mmHg lower than ventricular pressure. For two patients (Patients 4 and 6; GOS 2 and 6 respectively) tissue pressure was frequently greater than ventricular pressure. For the group, the average difference between sites was minimal (−0.832 mmHg) indicating that tissue pressure, on average, was ‘minimally’ lower than ventricular pressure; a clinically insignificant (average) difference between tissue and ventricular sites.
