  1. The table shows the characteristics of patients admitted with sepsis at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital in Uganda. One hundred and sixty-seven patients hospitalized in April to June 2011 were included in the development cohort, and 150 patients with sepsis hospitalized in February to July 2009 were included in the validation cohort.
