The curves demonstrate that patients can be stratified for long-term survival on the basis of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) at the time of presentation to the intensive care unit. Patients in the first NLR quartile had the highest probability of survival at 1 year, and patients in the fourth NLR quartile had the lowest probability of survival at 1 year.
