Positron emission tomography measurements of regional blood flow and lung water in a supine dog ventilated with pure oxygen, before and after induction of oleic acid lung injury, with intact (left) or ablated (right) hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction. Lung injury is associated with a significant increase in lung water.
