The whole column represents the total pressure (ΔPtot, L) variation in each group. Sepsis was induced by cecal ligation and puncture surgery (CLP). A sham-operated group was used as control group (C) for animals undergoing CLP. One hour after surgery, C and CLP groups were treated with saline (SAL) or glutamine (Gln). *Significantly different from C-SAL group (P < 0.05).
