TFPI anti-coagulant and anti-inflammatory activities. TFPI limits the conversion by the TF-FVIIa complex from factor X to Xa and thrombin formation, and thereby reduces proinflammatory intracellular signaling via PAR-1 and PAR-2 receptors.
