Renal effects of norepinephrine (NE)-induced variations in target mean arterial pressures (MAP) in post-cardiac surgery patients with NE-dependent vasodilatory shock and acute kidney injury. Restoration of MAP from 60 to 75 mm Hg improves renal oxygen delivery, GFR and the renal oxygen supply/demand relationship. This pressure-dependent renal perfusion, filtration and oxygenation at levels of MAP below 75 mm Hg reflect a more or less exhausted renal autoregulatory reserve. Data from [47].
