Expression of adhesion molecules for neutrophil infiltration is upregulated after ischemia/reperfusion. Gut and lung tissues were harvested 4 hours after intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R). The mRNA levels of β1, β2, and β3 integrins, intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and fibronectin in the (A) gut and (B) lungs were determined by real-time RT-PCR analysis. Their expression levels were normalized to β-actin. The value of the sham group is designated 1 for comparison. Data expressed as mean ± standard error (n = 5/group). *P < 0.05 versus sham.
