Brain water content in LPS group, HS group, and control group. The percentage of brain water content was significantly increased in LPS-treated mice at 8 hours and 12 hours following LPS injection when compared with the corresponding controls. However, treatment with 3% NaCl attenuated the increase in brain water content at 8 hours and 12 hours after LPS injection. (single star) P < 0.05 versus control group.
