(d) Lung from an animal submitted to 24-hour mild-stretch MV followed by tracheal instillation of BLP and sacrifice 8 hours later. The main abnormalities were septal thickening and inflammatory cell infiltration in rabbits submitted to MV, increased by the presence of BLP.
