The population of annexin-V binding lymphocytes increased. *P < 0.01 compared with healthy controls. (b) Detection of active caspase-3 in lymphocyte populations. In patients with severe sepsis, the percentage of active caspase-3 positive lymphocytes (CD4+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, CD19+ B cells) increased. *P < 0.01 compared with healthy controls.
